Christmas Lunch

On December 25th every year Colony 47 enjoys providing a traditional lunch, companionship and the spirit of Christmas for Tasmanians in the south of the state.

Traditionally the lunch is attended by over 350 people each year and receives the amazing contribution from volunteers, local businesses and individuals.

This year, Colony 47 faces a new challenge given the obstacles brought by COVID-19. The Christmas Lunch will go ahead on a “pickup” basis, where food and gifts will be available for collection. The venue continues to be at the Hellenic Hall on 67 Federal Street, North Hobart.

To help us prepare for the day, Colony 47 is inviting the community to register for this year’s “pickup” service online or via direct phone contact. In the registration form you can nominate yourself and the people you would like to request food and presents for.

There are two types of registration available:

Families and individuals: Here you can register yourself and others to collect food and gifts from the Hellenic Hall.

People living in remote areas and our elderly community: Colony 47 can deliver food and gifts to people living in remotes areas who are unable to travel and to our elderly community. Colony 47 will assess cases individually to ensure we can assist those in need.

We are inviting the Tasmanian community to participate in the Christmas Lunch, continue the legacy and thrive for companionship and inclusion.
