2020 was a year to reassess, adapt and work more collaboratively than ever before. The uncertainties and unknowns of a Christmas Lunch Event on a pick-up and delivery basis taught us valuable and important lessons about creativity, resilience and support for our community.
The result was an unprecedented success, with new volunteers joining the Colony 47 family, past volunteers continuing the legacy, new businesses and organisations getting involved and more families in Hobart being at the centre of our work and efforts.
We reached to 232 families adding up to 649 individuals who successfully received Christmas meals, hampers and presents.
In addition, the food donations and relentless volunteer work helped us prepare an additional 150 meals that were later distributed at local shelters on Christmas Day.
Colony 47 is honoured to have worked with people and businesses together to deliver support, companionship and care for those who need it most.
Once again, we are infinitely grateful and thank all of the volunteers and local businesses who made this possible.
