To support generational change and build a brighter future for young Tasmanians, we established Foundation 47; a subsidiary of Colony 47.
Why? We decided we want to be more inventive when it came to providing housing support.
The issues people face are sometimes complex, and as an organisation we find ourselves working in areas that the system doesn’t.
Foundation 47 will help address the issues facing vulnerable, young Tasmanians with funds being invested into a range of projects that will provide relief for vulnerable young people. Those who need support with health and wellbeing, housing, education and training, employment, and community participation.
Foundation 47 will help us create a brighter future for many young people and support our vision that no one in Tasmania should be left behind.
Bequests
Leaving a gift in your Will
We understand that leaving a bequest in your Will is a very personal and important decision. Colony 47 relies on gifts in Wills from everyday Tasmanians to help support and make a real difference to Tasmanians in their time of need.
Foundation 47
Colony 47 Inc. established Foundation 47 as a public benevolent institution (endorsed as an income tax exempt charitable entity), to enable community organisations and members to provide financial support to key areas preventing young Tasmanians achieving their goals.
With your support, Colony 47 Inc in its capacity as trustee for Foundation 47 can invest in a range of projects which provide relief for vulnerable young Tasmanians, including their health and wellbeing, housing, education and training, employment and community participation.
Foundation 47 seeks to invest in initiatives which break down these barriers, and help young Tasmanians overcome poor physical and mental health, provide them with access to safe, affordable and fit for purpose housing, improve vocational training and employment opportunities, and reduce youth employment in Tasmania.
It’s easy to include us in your Will.
We recommend that you seek the advice of an expert such as a solicitor or a specialist in a trustee company to ensure your Will is worded correctly to reflect your wishes.
