Our Executive Team

Danny Sutton
Chief Executive

Danny Sutton was appointed as the Chief Executive of Colony 47 in July 2016. Danny has broad industry experience in senior executive roles in the social services, IT, utilities, agriculture and state and commonwealth public sectors. Danny has a Bachelor of Arts degree from UTAS and a Masters of Business Administration degree from University of Queensland. Danny has delivered presentations at a number of national and international conferences on innovative service design and recently attended the Harvard Business School Executive Development Program for Not for Profit Leaders. Danny was recognised as the Tasmanian Professional Manager of the Year in 2009 and also achieved an international award for innovative social service workflow and IT design in Chicago in 2016. Danny is currently a member of the Mental Health Council of Tasmania’s Senior Leaders Forum, Chair of the Transition to Work Community Investment Leadership Group, Chair of the Housing Connect Collaborating Partners Group and a representative on the TASCOSS Industry Development Plan Working Group and the Ministerial Working Group on Housing.

Angela Abbott
Chief Operating Officer

Angela joined Colony 47 in November of 2019 and brought with her a broad range of experience across the hospitality, corporate, vocational and higher education sectors, spanning over 20 years.  Her primary focus has been business, strategy, HR and operational management within these industries which she is now applying in the community services context.

Angela holds a Bachelor of Business Management degree from the University of Tasmania and she is passionate about her involvement within the community and supporting Tasmanians to achieve their goals in life.

Alice Carroll
People Culture & Capability Manager

Alice joined Colony 47 in September 2018 and is a relatively new Tasmanian, having relocated from Melbourne in 2017. Alice holds a Bachelor of Commerce and has over 15 years’ experience in Human Resources across the Mining, Government and Hospitality industries both within Australia and internationally.

This has primarily been in organisational development areas such as leadership, learning and development, cultural change and employee engagement.

Glen O’Keefe
Youth Solutions Manager

Glen joined Colony 47 in 2006 and worked as a front-line leader for many years in the employment services programs.  In 2013 Glen was appointed to the Executive Management Team. He is now the Manager of the Youth Solutions Division and promotes integrated support services across the organisation’s youth programs. Glen completed the Tasmanian Leaders Program in 2014, is a board member of Mental Health Family and Friends Tasmania and a Board member and Treasurer of YNOT .

Bella Fountain
Housing Solutions Manager

Bella joined Colony 47 in 2017. After a career in real estate, specialising in property and tenancy development and management ultimately being the owner and director of a number of real estate agencies, Bella left the private sector in 2012. Following a passion for people and development, Bella moved to work in the community services sector through neighbourhood houses, specialising in volunteer engagement and development, training and working with young people to achieve their goals and develop healthy connections in their community. On moving to Hobart, a role as one of Colony 47’s Housing Connect Front Door Coordinators allowed a combination of her passions and work history being housing outcomes, supporting people and staff management. She will be in the role of Manager of Housing Solutions, overseeing all of Colony 47’s Housing and Mental Health programs, for 2020.

Gabby Mason Executive Officer

Gabby joined Colony 47 in February of 2017, bringing with her a wide range of administrative support skills and experience through her work in commercial organisations including Vodafone and Telstra. As part of the Executive, Gabby provides high level strategic support, guidance and coordination of the team to ensure we achieve our purpose to support people to achieve their goals in life.  Gabby has completed Steps 1 and 2 of the Advanced Management for Executive Assistants (AMEA) at the University of New South Wales in 2019 and 2020.
